DUETTO is a portable XRD/XRF analyzer developed for non-invasive analysis in cultural heritage, conservation, archaeology, and materials research. By combining X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence in a field-capable instrument, it enables users to obtain both structural and elemental information without sampling or damaging valuable objects. The system is suitable for laboratory use as well as in-situ investigations on artworks, pigments, archaeological materials, and conservation objects. Its compact design, optical alignment tools, camera, laser, and dedicated software support controlled measurements in complex environments, helping researchers and conservators characterize materials while preserving the integrity of the object under study.

Technique: combined portable XRD and XRF. Measurement: non-invasive, in-situ capable. XRD range: 20–55° 2θ. XRF range: 3–20 keV. Detector: photon-counting deep-depleted CCD, 1024 × 256 pixels, 26 µm pixel size, Peltier cooled to approx. –45 °C. X-ray tube: ceramic-metal grounded-cathode tube, 25 kV nominal, up to 10 W; Co target standard, Cu on request. Analysis time: typically 10–60 minutes. Dimensions: approx. 38 × 30 × 14 cm. Weight: approx. 5.9 kg. Power: 12–24 Vdc adapter or optional lithium battery source. Interface: USB; Linux/Windows acquisition software; export formats include txt, csv, xy, plv, mdi and ASCII.
