The Chem-500 includes the most widely used decision support software, HazmasterG3. The Chem-500 operates on the Android platform and therefore runs HazmasterG3 as an on-board App. Data from the chemical detector is transferred seamlessly into HazmasterG3, without need for external tablets, PCs, and no wires, no cables, no WiFi or Bluetooth communications.
It’s the product defined by military, law enforcement and first responder users of older-generation Raman analyzers. We asked “what do you want in your next generation Raman analyzer?” Then we designed the Chem-500 to our customer’s specifications and expectations - Better analytical performance, on board HazmasterG3 “so what does that mean” decision support software, more flexible accessories and sampling - all at nearly half the price of their existing Raman analyzers.
Meets IP67 & Mil Spec 810g standards
Large, Vibrant 5.5″ color touch screen display
Powered by Surefire 123A or Li-ion batteries.
WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS on-board (can be hardware disabled)
IR Status indicator for night and clandestine operations
Smarter Testing & Accessories

The Chem-500 features continuous and preset adjustable laser focus. Eliminate the most common error whereby the laser is focused on the sample holder rather than the sample material itself.  The Chem-500 offers two vial sizes - the standard 15 ml and smaller 8 ml vials - in one vial holder. The 8 ml vials need less sample, often a benefit when analyzing explosives.

Higher Excitation: Higher wavelength Raman excitation (1030 nm laser) for the specialized case of testing samples that exhibit high fluorescence.   For example, samples consisting of complex molecules or samples with a number of impurities. • Powerful:  The 300 mW laser means it’s one of the most powerful handheld Raman’s ever built. • Lightweight: At 3.7 lbs, it’s easy to carry while testing samples for an entire day. • Temperature-controlled CCD detector: The analyzer remains stable throughout hours of testing in the field, in the warehouse, on the factory floor or at the lab. • Thumbwheel control: incredibly easy to manipulate and operate single-handedly, for all types of users, with or without gloves. • Powerful processing: Fast, accurate matching to stored compound spectra and sophisticated statistical models provide results within seconds. • Report generation: Create reports on the spot or download data instantly with WiFi and/or USB connectivity. • Good mechanics: The Inspector 500 is equipped with a vial holder, a novel 90-degree sample tester ideal for bagged samples, and a point-and-shoot adapter, allowing for easy testing of virtually any sample type.  The point-and-shoot adapter is user adjustable to sample depth, allowing easy adaptation to thick or double-bagged samples, or sample bottles.
Inspector 300
The “500” class of Raman analyzers is equipped with higher wavelength Raman excitation (1030 nm laser) for the specialized case of testing samples that exhibit high fluorescence.   For example, samples consisting of complex molecules or samples with a number of impurities are excellent candidates for the Inspector 500 (1030 nm laser). While such samples may challenge the Inspector 300, the 500 allows for the specific Raman peaks to stand out in the spectrum. As with the rest of the SciAps Agent series of Raman analyzers, the Inspector 500 offers high stability, the same intuitive software and interface, fast processing speed, and seamless report generation and data management.

When the Scope is Docked…

It becomes a powerful analytical tool, capable of compound and mineral analysis of micron-sized samples, fibers, inclusions, mineral veins or other small samples.  Using the microscope, digital camera and XYZ stage (the Scope package), the operator pinpoints a region, yielding specific targeted chemical or mineral identifications.

In the Field…

Need to analyze materials in the field?  Or perform in-situ testing because materials cannot be moved or disturbed?  Quickly undock the Inspector for high-performance, in-field Raman functionality. It’s available in either a 785 nm or 1030 nm laser.  For samples that exhibit high amounts of fluorescence, the 1030 nm laser is the recommended choice.
Use the 100X magnifying power and video to closely examine and identify heterogeneous features on the sample, or identify a small sample to analyze.
Position the laser on the target, taking full advantage of the 25 um spot size to interrogate even the finest heterogeneous points or smallest of samples.
Fire away to get instant compound or mineral ID.
Develop quantitative models using the on-board Pass/Fail, PCA (principle component analysis) or PLS (partial least squares) techniques.
Monitor results through scope to verify you’re not burning the sample, or easily reduce the laser power in the Inspector.
Store image results for proof positive analysis.
The Advantage series high performance, low-cost Raman spectrometers facilitate research and development, and quality control in academic and industrial markets in over 30 countries around the world.
